Just a small selection of the most interesting Italian/American feats in September
September 10th to the 20th : San Gennaro Feast in Manhattan’s Little Italy. The most famous Italian religious celebration of New York City, but not the most authentic.
September 13th: Maria SS. Addolorata di Mola di Bari Feast in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. A pretty old Feast, nowadays a tradition for the Italian community of Brooklyn. There will be a procession followed by a Mass.
September 13th: Ferragosto in Arthur Avenue, Bronx. A very funny event to discover the Italian, old fashioned way to celebrate Ferragosto. Food, entertainment and tradition to remember Summer’s most important feast.
September the 26th and the 27th: St.Cosma e St.Damiano Feast at Saint Anthony’s Church in Utica, NY. This is a very important feast for the Italian/American community that arrives in Utica also from Canada to attend the celebration of these two saints from Calabria.
October 14th to the 18th: Saint Gerard Feast in Newark, NJ. Three days of procession (from the 16th to the 18th) and a climate of joy to celebrate the children’s patron.
