Celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce

Founded in New York in 1887, the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce is a private, not-for-profit, membership organization that represents the interests of companies that have, or that are interested in establishing business and commercial relations between the United States and Italy.
Celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce, over 40 representatives of IACC will travel to Rome from May 6 to May 10. The trip represents an important occasion for the Chamber’s representatives to meet with political and cultural authorities in Italy, strengthening ties between Italy and America even more.

The celebrations for the 125th Anniversary of the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce have officially started on April 27 with the Annual Spring Luncheon of the Chamber.


 

The next celebrative activity that will involve members of the Chamber’s Board and affiliates will be the trip  to Rome, which will take place from May 6 to May 10 and will represent an important occasion for the Chamber’s representatives to meet with political and cultural authorities in Italy, strengthening ties between Italy and America even more.
 
President of the IACC Claudio Bozzo, together with IACC Secretary General Francesco De Angelis, IACC Vice-President in Italy Francesco Nicotra and with 37 other members of the Chamber will fly to Rome on May 6. The following day, they will meet President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Gianfranco Fini in Montecitorio and President of the Foreign Affairs Commission to the Senate Lamberto Dini at Palazzo Madama.
 
On the same day, the guests will partake in a round table at the Bernini Hotel with representatives from the news agency ANSA International and will discuss business related matters, promoting foreign business and international trade.
 
After the round table with the press, the IACC delegation will visit Palazzo della Dataria, built by Pope Paul V as an addendum to the Quirinale Palace, where admistrative tasks could be performed. The delegates will then enjoy a dinner on the terrace of the Palazzo Assicurazioni Generali, in Piazza Venezia, offering a spectacular view on the Roman Foro Traiano. Guest of Honor of the night will be Giuseppe De Luca Lumeno, Secretary General of Associazione Nazionale Banche Popolari.
 
On May 8, the delegation will visit the historical Cuirassiers’ Station in Via XX Settembre and Palazzo Koch, where Banca d’Italia has its headquarters. They will then be received by Mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno on the Campidoglio hill, and will conclude their day by meeting the Foreign Affairs Minister and former Ambassador of Italy to the United States Giulio Terzi di Sant’Agata in the Ministry’s palace, known as Farnesina.
 
On May 9, the representatives from IACC will meet with Pope Benedict XVI and tour the Vatican Gardens. They will then visit the recently opened MAXXI Museum and meet with Corrado Passera, Minister of Economic Development. The day will continue with a visit to the offices of Fondazione Roma, located in the historical Palazzo Sciarra, overlooking Via del Corso.
 
After visiting Palazzo Sciarra, the delegates will partake in a dinner that will be the occasion to award President of Fondazione Roma Emmanuele Francesco Maria Emanuele with the Business and Culture Award of the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce.
