Ioan (Eduard Gabia), an illegal Romanian immigrant, goes to Rome to seek a better future. Michele (Luca Lionello) is a fortysomething Roman fellow who lives on precarious jobs. They become friends so Ioan accepts Michele’s proposal to share his place with him for 8 euros a day. They get to live many experiences together in the periphery of the city, including living under the continuous vexations of a terrible landlady.

The world around them is stuck between the fall of the Communist ideology on one side and the Myth of Capitalism on the other. The latter, that worsens and deepens social diversities, is not strong enough to ruin their friendship. But the compromises they have to make deeply affect their lives.
