ilvana (Sandra Ceccarelli) is the depressed wife of a provincial entrepreneur. She is convinced that Maria (Laura Vasiliu), their young Romanian maid, has stolen some valuable objects from her home. She has no proof but she fires Maria. After desperately wandering around, Maria goes to live with her ex boyfriend, Ionut (Costantin Lupescu). The young man had been in prison and just got out. Together they share a squalid apartment in the very periphery with his younger teenaged brother, Igor. The former (Victor Cosma) is suspicious of Maria and believes she will endanger his brother’s happiness. Ionut in the meantime has started to hang out with Marco Rancalli (Stefano Cassetti), a young cocaine addict with a difficult past. This gang of dropouts decides to target the industrialist's family.
