Description of Myself

Johnny "Meatballs" DeCarlo is part of an ensemble cast of the Vh1 series, "My Big Friggin' Wedding," which is a reality show about planning his "ultimate Jersey Italian wedding" and the building of his "Johnny Meatballs Empire." Johnny is striving to become the ultimate celebrity chef and often makes youtube videos which document his many food-related adventures. Born and raised in the Garden State, he is a proud New Jersey paisan with big goals ahead.

Johnny hopes to have his “Meatballs in Sunday Gravy” dinner packs on every store shelf in America, so the entire nation can experience the old-school Italian-American Sunday experience he grew up with. To Johnny, it’s not just about the meatballs themselves, but more of what they represent—which is the recreation of that special experience.

JM is also an accomplished writer, and has been published many times. He wrote “The Meatball Song,” which he recorded with dance music superstar Lucas Prata, and eventually Johnny intends to author a cookbook with recipes and stories about “Cugine” life—his definition of the real New Jersey Italian subculture, which would be an expansion of this blog.
